The Flute Society Library is housed in Elizabeth Koch’s room (LG 14) at the Elder School of Music. There is a large selection of sheet music, flute ensemble music (duets, trios, quartets and quintets), magazines, books and cassettes. Elizabeth may be contacted during office hours on 8313-5343 or e-mail to arrange a time for borrowing.


THE FLUTE SOCIETY PROGRAM ON 5MBS – presented by Robert Brown

The Flute Society Program is broadcast on Monday evenings at 7 pm and repeated on the following Sunday at 7 pm. 5MBS is located at 99.9 on the FM Band

June: Monday, June 26/Sunday, July 2, Selected Music from the Paris Conservatoire’s Annual Concours, including William Bennett performing Fauré’s Fantaisie and performances by Susan Milan, Patrick Gallois and Sir James Galway.

August: Monday, August 14/Sunday, August 20, Sir James Galway plays Lowell Liebermann’s Piccolo Concerto and Flute and Harp Concerto with the London Mozart Players.

The theme music used for the Flute Society Program is Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, played by Sir James Galway, flute, with Hiro Fujikake, synthesizer.
